Welcome to the Roxy...

In 1952 Charles Bishop and his son Richard began mixing concrete to build the landmark building at 120 S Washington Ave. Richard and Gladys Bishop purchased the theater in 1956 and proudly operated it  51 years. The Roxy was purchased in 2007 by Kevin and Cara Wright who have continued the tradition of great family entertainment.

The trademark Roxy neon sign continues to shine and welcome its cherished customers along with the original classic 35 mm carbon arc reel to reel projectors, two of the few remaining in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Small in the world of chain theaters with 20+ screens, Newport commands the attention of film studios enough to frequently play movies when they premier nationally.

Hope to see you at the Roxy!
